What is cryptocurrency and what is Bitcoin? Is this something we can bank on for the future of commerce? A local security expert visits City Club to explain the complex world of cryptocurrency.

Speakers:

Maren Peasley serves as an Identity and Access Management Specialist at local security vendor Symantec,  where he helps customers understand complex business software dealing with authentication and encryption. He helps the internal team design and evaluate cryptography usage in products and services. He recently co-founded DC541, a local cybersecurity discussion forum that meets monthly.

Love Cross joined KLCC in 2017. She began her public radio career as a graduate student, serving as Morning Edition Host for Boise State Public Radio in the late 1990s. She earned her undergraduate degree in Rhetoric and Communication from University of California at Davis, and her Master’s Degree from Boise State University. In addition to her work in public radio, Love teaches college-level courses in Communication and Public Speaking.
