City Club of Eugene: Oregon State Senate District 4 Candidate Forum

At this week's City Club of Eugene, we hear from candidates for Oregon State Senate District 4 and East Lane County Commissioner – District 5

Floyd Prozanski is the candidate of the Democrat, Independent, and Working Families  party for State Senate District 4.  He is the incumbent and has held the office since 2004.  Floyd holds degrees from Texas A&M University and South Texas College of Law and is employed as a municipal prosecutor when the legislature is not in session. His government service also includes  the Oregon House of Representatives; Lane County Assistant District Attorney; Eugene Police Commission; Oregon Law Commission and the BLM Timber Sale Advisory Board.

Scott Rohter is the candidate of the Republican and Constitution Parties for State Senate District 4.  He is a farmer and small business owner.  Scott attended the American Business College in Chicago Illinois and is an internet publisher at www.lessgovisthebestgov.com.  Scott’s government experience includes work writing a bill reforming foreclosure sales, which passed the Oregon Legislature as HB 4111 in 2012.  His campaign has emphasized highway safety, particularly in the McKenzie River valley where he lives.

Heather Buch is a Licensed Principal Broker in real estate and has worked as Special Projects Director  for  the St. Vincent de Paul Society of Lane County.  She holds a BA in Business Administration from Seattle University.  A native of Lane County, her government experience includes  the Eugene Rental Housing Department Advisory Committee; Springfield Manufactured Home Park Collaborative; Co-chair, Active Bethel Citizens Neighborhood Association and the Beltline Facility Plan Stakeholder Advisory Committee.

Gary Williams is the incumbent Lane County Commissioner  for Position 5 and the former Mayor and City Councilor in Cottage Grove.  He was invited to this forum but did not accept.

She earned her undergraduate degree in Rhetoric and Communication from University of California at Davis, and her Master’s Degree from Boise State University.
