Homelessness continues to be a problem in Lane County. Saturday, residents can hear stories and solutions from homeless individuals in a locally produced documentary titled, "The Dignity Project – Hear Our Stories." Paula Goodbar helped produce the movie. She got the idea from a camper she talked to at one of Eugene's homeless camps.
Goodbar: "And he said that they felt like their dignity had been stripped from them as people would drive by the camps and yell, 'get a job you bum.' So the moment gave me goose bumps, so I know I needed to help get those stories out there.
Goodbar says the there has been progress with helping the homeless. She cited the cities' designated camp areas. "The Dignity Project – Hear Our Stories" will be shown tonight at the First Christian Church in Eugene. Doors open at 6:00 PM. There is also a presentation on the 2015 Lane County Homeless Count.
