The Eugene Symphony welcomes the first of its three finalists to become the symphony’s next conductor and music director. Quebec native Dina Gilbert has arrived from Montreal, where she was assistant conductor of the Orchestre Symphonique de Montreal , as well as founder and artistic director of chamber orchestra Ensemble Arkea. She will conduct the Eugene Symphony on Thursday, December 8th at the Hult Center, as part of a week that includes many other appearances and activities. She speaks with Eric Alan about why she wishes the job, and her vision for the symphony.
