Election officials in Lane County say if you’re still aiming to get your ballot in by the voting deadline, to either seek an official dropbox or to stop by their office.
That’s because today (Wednesday) was the last day recommended by the U.S. Postal Service to mail in your vote.
Cheryl Betschart is Lane County’s clerk elections manager. She says so far, ballot returns are especially strong for midterms. She says there is slight more than the previous midterm elections in 2014.
Currently the Lane County Elections Office has more than 75,400 ballots in. That’s a nearly 29 percent return.
The deadline is 8pm, Tuesday night. Postmarks don’t count.
