JUNE 19, 2018 - KLCC announced today that General Manager John Stark is retiring on August 31, after five years at the station and a 44-year career in public radio. Under Stark’s leadership, KLCC has obtained its largest audience, maximized local funding and launched the KLCC Public Radio Foundation.
Lane Community College has retained Livingston Associates search firm with deep connections to public radio and media executives to begin reviewing potential candidates (both nationally and locally) for the General Manager position.
“John has spent his entire career in service to the mission and vision of public radio and Terry is going on to continue similar service in a bold new venture,” said Brian Kelly, Vice President of College Services for Lane Community College. “We greatly thank them for their contributions and hard work and will now begin the process of finding the next generation of leaders at KLCC."
KLCC 89.7 FM is licensed to Lane Community College and is the primary NPR station in the Eugene area. KLCC serves 88,000 listeners each week with 4 translators and 5 sister stations throughout Western and Central Oregon, plus a live stream at klcc.org.
