Lane Transit District is considering expanding its routes in the Eugene-Springfield area. Ideas include longer hours and possible bus service to the airport.
LTD is in talks with the City of Eugene about providing bus service to the airport. Russ Arnold, Marketing Manager with LTD says this is still just in discussion. He says the agency has heard from more than 2-thousand people with suggestions for improving service.
Arnold: "What we hear the community wants is increased span, which means the buses running earlier / later, more frequency, how often they run every hour, and then more coverage."
Arnold says LTD plans to extend hours for some of its core buses to 11:45 on weeknights. Arnold says fare increases are *not on the table this year. The board will decide on changes April 15th and implement them in the fall. The agency is seeking more public input on route changes. LTD is holding a public hearing Wednesday evening at 5:30 at the Eugene Public Library.
LTD is offering free rides to the memorial service for former University of Oregon President Dave Frohnmayer Saturday at Matthew Knight Arena.
