The northbound lanes of 1-5 were temporarily closed Tuesday afternoon north of Creswell after a man attempted to elude state troopers.
The man, whose name has not been released, allegedly purposefully hit a school bus with his passenger car. The bus and car pulled over to the shoulder, where the man took his pants off and tried to enter the bus. No students were on board, only a female bus driver.
The man then left the area in his car, which reportedly had two flat tires, and attempted to elude a state trooper. The man eventually drove off the road, through a fence and into a small pond.
When the man emerged from the submerged vehicle, he was taken into custody by state police. He is being lodged in the Lane County Jail pending completion of the investigation.
