Rural Patients Get New Clinic In Pleasant Hill

Residents in the rural community of Pleasant Hill have a new option when it comes to health care. As KLCC’s Tiffany Eckert reports, an urgent care clinic is now open for business.

Pleasant Hill Urgent Care may not have an expensive cat-scan or ultrasound. They don’t admit patients or perform surgery. But they do provide primary care. They offer x-ray services and can give I-V fluids and meds. If you need a bone set or a wound sutured, medical staff at this clinic can do it.

And no one will be turned away, even the uninsured.

Boriskin: “I think we’re the best price in town.”

That’s Mitch Boriskin. He’s a family nurse practitioner and Chief Operating Officer of Eugene Urgent Care.

Boriskin: “We charge $99. We don’t do free care but if someone comes in urgently, of course we’re gonna help them and send them on their way.”

Boriskin says they helped ten patients on their first day. Eugene Urgent Care is an alliance of health care providers. The Pleasant Hill clinic is the seventh of its kind in Lane County. Located off Highway 58, Urgent Care is open seven days a week and walk-ins are welcome.

Tiffany joined the KLCC News team in 2007. She studied journalism at the University of Missouri-Columbia and worked in a variety of media including television, technical writing, photography and daily print news before moving to the Pacific Northwest.
