Stewart Stepping Down From Lane County Board For New Position

Lane County

After nearly 13 years, Lane County Commissioner Faye Stewart is stepping down from his board seat to take a job with the City of Cottage Grove. He’ll take a new job at the end of this month.

Stewart has been hired as Cottage Grove’s Public Works and Development Director. He lives in Cottage Grove and says the main reason for the move is to be closer to home and have more time with his family.
“With the new position in Cottage Grove I’ll have a lot of that same responsibility the same things that I enjoy doing here at the county, working with Public Works or land use issues, helping economic development all those things I deal with here that I enjoy I’ll be able to do, be able to focus on and do right in Cottage Grove.”
Stewart says he’s grateful to Lane County citizens, staff and his colleagues for his time on the board of Commissioners.  Stewart says Lane County is on a positive track with a balanced budget. His position represents Eastern Lane County and parts of Eugene.  The remaining board members are taking applications through April 7th to fill the vacancy.
