OSF announces 2022 season with 8 live, 3 digital productions

OSF's 2017 musical production of Julius Caesar aired for digital viewing during its 2021 season.

The lineup includes eight live and three digital productions between April and December.

Next year’s big change: OSF is moving away from what’s called dynamic pricing, which is when ticket prices change based on market demand.

Artistic Director Nataki Garrett says the change was to make tickets more affordable.

“We have a new kind of simpler pricing model that allows for greater accessibility through pricing,” Nataki says. “There are three different prices for tickets over three different kinds of nights and nothing that's over $75.”

Like with its live performances this year, OSF will require guests to wear masks and to provide proof of vaccination or a negative COVID test. Seats will be limited to allow for social distancing.

Garrett says among its lineup is a musical called “Once on This Island” — which integrates traditional Caribbean sounds and myth with themes that speak to current challenges.

“It's about what it means to live in these polarized spaces, and how do you find the space of coming together?” Nataki says. “You use healing, and you use love, and you use joy to combat sorrow and dissonance and separation.”
