Warming Centers plan to activate as temperatures drop

Egan Warming Center
The Memorial Building in Springfield is being prepared as an Egan Warming Center site.

With cold temperatures forecast for next week the Egan Warming Centers in Eugene and Springfield have confirmed they will activate Sunday night.
They're on standby for Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday.

They may have an extended activation so they’re urging trained volunteers to sign up for shifts.

In Eugene, the Lane Events Center will be open with three separate areas and in Springfield, the Memorial Building is expected to be ready to accommodate guests.

The youth site will be at First United Methodist Church in Eugene.

Lane Transit District is offering free bus rides to Egan Warming Center sites.

In Cottage Grove, the Community Sharing Warming Center is opening Friday, Saturday, and Sunday night and will be on standby for Monday. The location is 224 N 12th St., Cottage Grove (behind the Dari Mart at 1200 E. Main St)
They are in need of volunteers:

volunteer needs include:

2-3 Site Set-Up Volunteers from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
1-2 Hospitality Volunteers from 7:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.
1-2 Morning Clean-Up Volunteers from 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m.
