Michael Lainoff serves on the KLCC Public Radio Foundation.
Michael began public service in 1972 as a wildland firefighter on the Umatilla National Forest. His career over the next forty-three years included service as the Oregon Coast Community College’s Small Business Development Center Director, Coconino Community College’s Dean of Workforce Development & Extended Learning, Northern Arizona University’s Founding Director of the Arizona Rural Policy Institute and Lane Community College’s State Director of the Oregon Small Business Development Center Network.
Michael holds a BA in English from the University of Missouri, and an MS in Instructional Technology from the University of Oregon. In retirement he serves on two nonprofit boards, occasionally apprehends miscreant salmonids and helps his wife Marna maintain their productive garden. He is an avid backcountry hiker, and spends a week each year on the more obscure trails in the Grand Canyon.
