The 4J School District has released its re-opening plan for the fall term. Students have two options that address COVID-19 concerns.
First, students can choose a blended plan consisting of online and on-site courses. Most instruction is expected to be remote, especially in the first few weeks. In-person teaching may be provided, as public health conditions allow.
When on-site learning rolls out, students will be limited in number, and will take courses in alternating groups.
Measures including face masks, disinfecting surfaces, and social distancing will be used in compliance with state health and education guidelines.
The other option for students is the Eugene Online Academy, which is entirely remote learning. Interested families have until August 10 to fill out an interest form on the 4J website.
The district says online courses will be more robust than the short-term emergency ones offered last spring.
A 4J spokesperson says the planned start date for fall is September 14th.
