The Eugene 4J school district announced Tuesday the entire fall trimester will be online. This is an update from 4J’s previous announcement to only have online learning for roughly the first four weeks of the school year.
Students in all grades will learn online through the beginning of December. Teachers will instruct online classes from school buildings or remotely.
In mid-November, 4J will decide whether to partially reopen buildings on December 7 for the second trimester. But this will consist of a hybrid model of online and on-site learning.
If school buildings do not reopen in December, 4J will decide in January if on-site learning can begin on February 1 for the second half of the trimester.
4J will hold a virtual school board meeting Wednesday at 7 p.m. The meeting will be broadcast on KRVM 1280 AM and live-streamed via the 4J website.
The district is also hosting two virtual "Return To Learning" information sessions for families. The first is on Thursday, Aug. 6 at 5:30 p.m. and the secondis set for Tuesday, Aug. 11 at 2:00 p.m.
