Benton County Sheriff To Retire In February

Benton County Sheriff Scott Jackson will retire on Feb. 1, 2021.

Jackson has worked for the Sheriff’s Office since 1995 and was appointed sheriff in 2013. The Benton County Board of Commissioners will appoint a new sheriff to serve the remainder of Jackson’s term.

Jackson will become the second consecutive Benton County sheriff to resign from elected office. In 2013, Sheriff Diana Simpson retired mid-term, and county commissioners appointed Jackson as interm sheriff. Jackson was elected to a four-year term in 2014 and was re-elected in 2018.
