Campbell Community Center’s renovation and expansion will break ground tomorrow after its annual ice cream social.
Improvements to the center come from the Eugene Parks and Recreation’s 2018 bond and levy funds.
Andy Fernandez, with senior and adaptive services, says they’ll be expanding their size and emphasizing health and wellness.
“So we’ll be adding a fitness component, some classrooms to run some fitness and exercise classes,” says Fernandez. “We’ll be reconfiguring the inside and updating the inside, so that we’ll have a bigger and better lobby in order to really serve our patrons better and more efficiently.”
Construction will begin in September and is projected to be finished by the end of next summer.
