Carrie Rodriguez and the Sacred Hearts, from Mexican Ranchera Music to Eugene

Vocalist, fiddler and songwriter Carrie Rodriguez has gained acclaim over the course of a career that has taken her from her native Austin, Texas to Carnegie Hall, A Prairie Home Companion to The Today Show. After four collaborative albums with Chip Taylor, several solo CDs and songwriting collaborations with artists ranging from Rickie Lee Jones to Los Lobos, she returns to roots on her new bilingual CD, Lola. It was created with an all-star band called the Sacred Hearts, assembled just for the album. She’s touring behind that release and will perform with multi-instrumentalist Luke Jacobs at the Jaqua Concert Hall in Eugene on Tuesday, June 7th. She speaks with Eric Alan and shares some of the music from Lola.
