The City Club hosted a forum on April 13th to learn more about the measures for a Eugene City Auditor. Speakers presented their arguments for each ballot measure and their significant differences. Panelists described the ballot measures and why they are important for the community. The forum was hosted by KLCC’s Tiffany Eckert.
Speaker Biographies:
Bonny Bettman McCornack has previously served as a Eugene City Councilor and spent years as a city volunteer and Neighborhood Association Leader. She is one of the chief petitioners for ballot measure 20-283 and spoke for the group Elected Auditor 4 City Accountability. This measure seeks to establish the office of an elected independent City Auditor on the May ballot.
Joshua Skov is a local activist and volunteer. He has served on boards and commissions advising the City of Eugene, Eugene Water & Electric Board, and Lane Transit District, and was a founding member and chair of the City’s Sustainability Commission. He spoke for Citizens for Sensible Oversight, the group looking for an appointed auditor that the Eugene City Council would choose.
