City Club of Eugene: Lane County Commissioner District 3 Race (South Eugene)

City Club of Eugene Facebook Page

Program Date: September 25, 2020

Air Date: September 28, 2020

From the City Club of Eugene:

This week’s City Club program features the candidates for Lane County Commissioner, District 3 (South Eugene), Joel Iboa and Laurie Trieger.

District 3 of Lane County (South Eugene) is the smallest in geographic size, but has the largest population of the five county districts. Six-term Lane County Commissioner Pete Sorenson is not standing for re-election, and the race for County Commissioner Position 3 – South Eugene may well be a close one. It features two candidates with deep community roots and broad experience.  Joel Iboa works at Causa, an immigrant rights organization. His priorities are housing and homelessness, community safety, and environmental justice. Laurie Trieger works for Sponsors, Inc., and says public health, climate change, housing and homelessness and accessibility of government are among her priorities.

Love Cross joined KLCC in 2017. She began her public radio career as a graduate student, serving as Morning Edition Host for Boise State Public Radio in the late 1990s.
