White Bird Medical has opened an indoor mass vax clinic in downtown Eugene. They’ve partnered with the Community Center for the Performing Arts, better known as the W.O.W. Hall, to offer COVID-19 vaccinations to anyone eligible under Oregon’s guidelines.
The line outside the W.O.W. Hall looks like it did pre-pandemic when people waited to see a show. But today, folks are here for a shot of Moderna vaccine.
Social worker Samantha Adams just got jabbed. “I feel like I’m protecting myself and I might get to see my grandkids again. I’m very relieved, yes.”
Adams moves to the 15-minute observation area, set up on the dancefloor. She left feeling good.
White Bird Medical Coordinator Chris Hecht said this clinic is powered by medically-trained volunteers. He proudly acknowledged they’ve received 45 volunteer applications in the last week.
These clinics at the W.O.W. Hall will have the capacity and supply to vaccinate anyone eligible and interested, Hecht said. To learn more or register for a vaccination, visit whitebirdclinic.org or click here .
