Congressman Peter DeFazio took to the stage at the Lane County Democratic watch party last night to assure the crowd that regardless of the outcome of the presidential election, the Democratic Party will not let them down.
DeFazio says the country overcame the great depression, world War II and the Nazi regime. The job now, he says, is to protect services Americans have come to expect.
Defazio: “Social Security, Medicare, and other things that many of those on the other side of the isle would undo. We’re not gonna let them undo those things, those are enduring legacies for all the American people.”
DeFazio appeared resolute in the need to reverse Citizens United and build on the affordable care act.
Defazio: “We need to defend the other great programs and legacies of the Democrats and no matter what happens tonight, we will be here tomorrow and we will start building toward the next election.”
Peter DeFazio will return to the US House of Representatives for his 16th term representing Oregon’s fourth district.
