Douglas County voters approved an increase in property taxes to hire a full-time Fire Chief/Paramedic for the Tenmile Fire District, Tuesday night.
More than 60 percent of voters supported the ballot measure that will raise around $70,000 in taxes a year for the next 5 years. To fund the position, residents in the district could see an increase of $15 a month in taxes for the average home. Those dollars will go toward training, administrative costs, and salary.
