Eugene Police Investigate Possible Bias Crime

Eugene Police are investigating what they call a bias crime against a 15-year old African-American boy. Police say the boy was chased by two white men who he felt were trying to assault him.

The incident occurred on April 19th in the West 11th area.

The youth told police he was walking in front of some apartments when a gold Chevrolet sedan passed him. He said it slowed down, turned around and came back toward him. The youth says the car stopped and the driver and passenger got out and ran toward him. The driver reportedly yelled racial slurs.
The youth ran away and was able to find an adult in the apartment complex who called police. Officers arrived and were unable to find the suspects. The investigation is still underway.
