Eugene Will Live Up To Its Track Town USA Rep This Summer

The Prefontaine Classic just wrapped up at Hayward Field and there's more to come in Eugene for Track & Field fans.

Track town USA will live up to its nickname this summer.

The World Junior Championships is the marquee event in late July. It's the first time this competition has been held in the United States. The World Juniors coincides with the Eugene Marathon on July 27th.

Kari Westlund, President and CEO of Travel Lane County says she thinks visitors will be able to find lodging in and around Eugene.

Westlund: "We may get pretty full that weekend and we're getting pretty full around the NCAA championships in early June as well.  But we do tend to see things flux as we get close to an event rooms open back up and at the end of the day it always does work out."

The NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships are June 11th through 14th.

If that's not enough to feed your track and field appetite: the USA Juniors will be at Hayward Field in advance of the World Junior Championships in July.

Westlund says those who are seeking lodging can contact Travel Lane County.
