Hazardous Air Quality May Improve Tuesday For Eugene/ Springfield

airnow.gov

Air quality in Eugene and Springfield has been at the worst levels it’s ever been this week due to nearby wildfires. That’s according to Lane Regional Air Protection Agency or LRAPA.

At a virtual community meeting on the Holiday Farm Fire Saturday evening L-RAPA spokesman Travis Knudsen said there won’t be any relief until a storm front brings a shift to the winds on Monday or Tuesday.

“When we have an air quality of that hazardous level, its very important that you’re not going outside, you’re trying to limit exposure to it as much as possible, staying indoors, keeping the windows shut, keeping the doors closed as much as you can.”

Knudsen said there’s nowhere to go to find relief since the hazardous air quality is blanketing the region.

Knudsen says to check airnow.gov for current air quality information.
