Lane County health officials are hopeful the coronavirus vaccine supply will be more consistent in the future in order to operate mass vaccination clinics. The county plans to administer first doses to 1,500 people aged 80 and over on Sunday. That clinic is full with a waiting list.
Lane County has a web portal where people can pre-register for the vaccine. Spokesperson Jason Davis said they’re working to make that more accessible for seniors and those without internet access.
“So, we’re actively looking at ways to reduce barriers for those seniors who are having trouble pre-registering,” Davis said. “But in the meantime if we can please ask our community to rally around that population and help them with this process, this is one of our most at-risk populations and we do not want them to fall through the cracks and they certainly are not going to be forgotten."
Davis added that those who have received the first dose of vaccine do NOT need to register again for the 2nd dose.
People can sign up for vaccine pre-registration by calling 541-682-1380.
