Last Big Push For Oregon Ballots Comes Just Ahead Of Election Day 2018

In the final hours leading up to midterms, voting advocates are pushing hard to get people to drop off their ballots.

“Thank you for voting! Thank you for voting! Wooo!!

At the University of Oregon, a group of students were cheering on anyone who used the campus’ official ballot dropbox.

A rally with Democratic lawmakers and candidates also did its part to fire up millennials…who traditionally turn out the least on Election Day.

Largely Democratic candidates and politicians spoke to the campus crowd - which included a llama - about the necessity of the youth vote.

Governor Kate Brown – who’s in a tight race with Republican challenger Knute Bueler – was among those urging “Get Out the Vote.”

“Go Ducks! Go Ducks!"  (CHEERS) Thank you so much for coming out today!" Brown said.  "We all know that politics is not a spectator sport, is it?” (Noooo!!) No it’s not….”

Voting advocates say it’s too late to mail in your ballot. They say you can drop it off in any designated ballot box – or at the Lane County Elections Office in downtown Eugene – before 8pm Tuesday night.
