Lane Community College held a vigil Wednesday night celebrating the life of Alex Oyombe Gradin. Gradin was fatally shot Saturday Morning behind Taylor’s Bar and Grill in Eugene.
As the sun set over the college campus, friends, family, classmates gathered around lighting candles and sharing memories of 21 year old Gradin, like his ambitious dreams for the future and his sense of humor.
LCC student president Nick Keough says Gradin's death was a huge loss for the school
KEOUGH: “He made big impacts on this campus. We’ve met a lot of his friends and family in the past few days and have heard stories about his infectious smile and his compassion and his friendliness.”
Keough says the college has counseling resources available for students in need of additional support.
The Eugene Police Department is still investigating the crime and is currently looking for tips or info from the public. No suspect has been named.
