Lincoln County is reducing the cap on the number of people who can be present in private social gatherings.
The county is in Phase One of Governor Kate Brown’s re-opening plan, which typically allows gatherings of up to 25 people. But county commissioners reduced that limit to ten people in order to slow the spread of the coronavirus. The lower limit is in effect in unincorporated areas, as well as in the cities of Newport, Depoe Bay, Siletz and Yachats.
As of Monday, Lincoln County had the second-highest rate of confirmed cases of COVID-19 per capita of any county in Oregon, according to data from the Oregon Health Authority.
