Mike Clark Is Running For Mayor Of Eugene

Rachael McDonald

Mike Clark has declared his candidacy for Mayor of Eugene. The city councilor made the announcement at a press conference Tuesday.

Clark has represented Ward 5 on the City Council for nearly a decade. He announced his candidacy at the Eugene Water & Electric Board courtyard along the Willamette River.
Clark: “In the next few years, we’ll make several key decisions that will echo through our community for the next 50 to 100 years. How and what we build on the river bank here; how we establish our new urban growth boundary; how we rebuild our City Hall; how we continue to renew and grow our downtown; how we strengthen local businesses and the local economy and help more folks find meaningful work.”
Clark is a Republican. In this non-partisan race, he’s joined by progressive candidate Lucy Vinis, former EWEB commissioner Bob Cassidy and Stefan Strek, who hasn’t yet filed a petition, in running for the open seat of Eugene Mayor in the May primary.
