New Call Center Hiring In Veneta

Karen Richards

A three-year collaboration between state, county, and local groups has come to fruition in Veneta. First Call Resolution, a growing Oregon-based company, has moved into its new space and is now hiring.

"First call resolution" refers to the company's goal of solving a customer's question within one phone call. Today, the call center received two 50-thousand dollar business development checks, one from the state and one from Lane County.

This is the company's fifth center. President John Stadter says all the locations are in small Oregon communities:

Stadter: "We're a rural Oregon focused company, 'cause I grew up in rural Oregon. I believe in the quality of the people. It's where jobs are needed the most."

The Roseburg-based call center out-sources customer service for over 50 clients. The Veneta location will provide support for one large travel-based client.

Site Director Michael Rice says they are actively hiring:

Rice: "So we have 20 already in production, we have 20 plus in training, and we'll be at 100 plus by June."

Rice says the majority of the new employees live in Veneta, something local leaders applaud. The center has capacity for 300 employees.
