Oregon Asian Celebration Postponed Following Rise In COVID-19 Risk Across Lane County

A week and a half before it was to start, organizers say the Oregon Asian Celebration has been postponed due to Lane County’s elevated risk levels for COVID-19.

In a release, organizers say the news was a blow to their efforts.  But the event is not canceled, it will instead be held sometime later this summer.  Ideally the risk level in the county will improve, and more people will be vaccinated against the coronavirus.

While Lane County’s shift to the “extreme risk” category has put off the annual event, the downtown Windowfront Exhibits of fine arts, craft demonstrations, and cultural heritage exhibits will still be on display through May, in honor of Asian American and Pacific Islander month.

Details on the Oregon Asian Celebration’s new date and location are still to be determined.
