No. 13 Oregon claimed the Pac-12 Championship title Friday night with their 37-15 upset win over No. 5 Utah at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, Ca.
The Ducks were on top from the start, scoring on their first drive and leading 20-0 at the half. Utah made a push in the third quarter, scoring 15 points, but Oregon held them at that score for the remainder of the game. Oregon’s CJ Verdell ran for 208 yards and broke open the game with two long touchdown runs in the fourth quarter.
Oregon's victory knocked Utah out of contention for the National Championship playoffs. The win means the Ducks will play in their eighth Rose Bowl on New Year’s day. Their opponent has not yet been decided.
