Oregon's Department Of Agriculture Recommends Changes To Legislators

oregon.gov

The Oregon Department of Agriculture is recommending changes to water supply levels, access to markets, and more pressure on Congress to pass immigration reform. It's all in the ODA's recently completed biennial report for the governor. Steve Van Mouwerik is the Board of Agriculture Chair.

Van Mouwerik: “We really found that having the issues the perspectives that were unique to each part of Oregon ag, whether it’s high desert or western valley, it gives legislators a way to fit it back into their own origins and their own districts while then connecting it to some broader statewide perspectives and initiatives.”

Mouwerik says despite a wide range of issues, the report is designed to be concise. The ODA board members will hand deliver copies of the report when they meet with state legislators next month.
