The Silver Creek fire outside Salem is getting closer to containment.
Officials say the fire is 100 percent lined and 55 percent contained. It remains at 27 acres in size and no growth is expected.
Investigators also determined lighting was the cause of the fire. Closures still remain in Silver Falls State Park but Howard Creek ranches have reopened and scheduled events will remain uninterrupted.
