Theaters in Eugene, Corvallis and Florence Plan To Show The Interview

Rachael McDonald

The controversial Sony picture "The Interview" will open Christmas Day at several Oregon independent theaters.

The Bijou in Eugene and Darkside Cinemas in Corvallis are among the theaters planning to open "The Interview" Thursday. Lane County's newest Movie Theater, City Lights, in Florence also plans to show the movie.

Sony canceled "The Interview's" opening Christmas Day in major theaters after its emails were hacked and there were threats around release of the film. But independent movie houses pushed for a limited release.

The Verge lists theaters across the country planning to show "The Interview" Christmas Day.
