Sandi Mann is among three people who have so far filed to run for the Lane County Board of Commissioners position 3 in May.
Sandi Mann is a substitute teacher in Lane County schools. She’s never held an elected position. Mann says she feels she could make a difference as commissioner. Her priorities include what she calls basic needs:
“Such as the homelessness problem in Lane County, shelter, food, living wage jobs. The environment.”
Mann says she’s not a politician, but she likes a quote from President Jimmy Carter, which she paraphrases:
“The only failure is not to try. I hope to give it my best. And I hope to be one of the best commissioners Lane County ever has.”
Laurie Trieger and Joel Iboa are also running for position 3 on the board. The seat, which represents South Eugene is currently held by Pete Sorenson who’s decided not to run again.
