A tenant rights advocate and member of two budget committees is running for Eugene City Council, Ward One.
28-year-old Tim Morris officially kicked off his campaign last Sunday. He says as Board President of the Eugene Springfield Tenant Association, he’s aware of the area’s need for affordable housing.
“A major issue happening here in not only Eugene, but the state of Oregon," he says. "We are facing a housing crisis, and it’s getting worse and worse, and projections are showing that it’s not going to get better unless we do something today.”
Morris also wants to address climate change, and better accessibility of city council members to the public. He serves on the budget committees for Lane County and Lane Community College. The latter is the license holder for KLCC.
