University spokesperson, Kelly McIver, says that the sky-bridge will connect the U of O to the Knight Campus being built across the four-lane boulevard.

“It’ll allow people to go directly from the University’s other science buildings over to the Knight Campus,” McIver says, “So that will not only be convenient for them, but also it’ll be a real safety benefit for Franklin Boulevard, because it will take some of that pedestrian traffic away from the street there.”

Detours will continue until July, when the most impactful work will begin to take place at night.
