Upcoming Meetings Will Help Shape Neighborhood's Future

City of Eugene

Neighborhood leaders in the Santa Clara / River Road area hope to plan ahead for the growth expected in Eugene over the next 20 years.

Eugene anticipates more than 34-thousand people to move here in the next 2 decades. Much of River Road and Santa Clara is unincorporated, but citizens want a say in how growth takes place there. Kat Perle is with the Santa Clara Neighborhood Association. She says a resident-driven visioning process is underway.
“These are the neighbors who’ve been working on this for upwards of 10 years slowly, moving forward, trying to assess what our neighbors’ priorities are and what we can do to help sustain and improve and enhance our neighborhoods in both a livability sense and an economic sense.”
Neighbors got together last fall to develop vision statements. At two upcoming meetingsthey’ll discuss those visions and how to move forward. The first meeting is Wednesday June 6th from 5:30 – 8p.m. The second is Sunday June 10th from 2:30 – 5 p.m. Both are at North Eugene High School.
