Virtual Technology Training Sessions Offered for Eugene 4J Families

There may be a solution for Eugene 4J families struggling with technology during distance learning. The school district will hold multiple virtual tech training sessions over the next few weeks.

Parents will see a demonstration of the learning management system used for their student’s online classes. This includes Seesaw and Clever for elementary students, and Canvas for middle and high school students. 4J Chief of Staff Kerry Delf said the webinars could help families and educators.

"Being able to just ask somebody some questions should also help take a significant load off of teachers who are the first line of defense receiving those tech support questions," said Delf. "'How do I get into this?' We know our teachers are receiving a lot of those questions. And the more that we can help our families get that information without having to check with the classroom teacher, the better it will serve both our parents and our teachers and staff."

The first online meeting is Thursday from 5:30-6:30pm for elementary parents. Spanish and American Sign Language interpreters will be provided.
