Want to Donate? Gift Cards & Gas Cards Most Needed

Nina Fink

As of Monday, the volunteer relief efforts for those affected by the Holiday Farm Fire have moved to a field at the Masonic Lodge across from Autzen stadium in Eugene. Distribution of donations also continues at St. Vincent de Paul’s Roosevelt Boulevard Wildfire Relief Site. Both places could use donations and volunteers.

Having moved the relief area from Silke Field in Springfield over the weekend, volunteer coordinator Dan Isaacson said the Masonic location will have set hours, from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily. “There’s no overnight staying allowed near the (Masonic) Center," said Isaacson, "so that’s why we’re trying to get gift cards, especially cash gift cards, so we can hand those to people who need a hotel or some other option.”

Isaacson said gas gift cards are also useful. A spokesperson for St. Vinnie’s said they’re taking donations of diapers and personal hygiene items, blankets and pillows at 2699 Roosevelt Boulevard. People can sign up to help take in and distribute items through the McKenzie River Trust online.
