Winnebago is coming to Lane County. The recreational vehicle company will move into the former Country Coach facility in Junction City.
Lane County Commissioner Sid Leiken says the county is granting the company 100-thousand dollars for infrastructure improvement costs.
Leiken: “When Lane County does provide incentive dollars like this it isn’t a check that we hand over to the company. It will always stay with that particular property. So, if for some reason, Winnebago chose to move in the future, that $100-thousand that we provide incentive for will stay with that facility at all times.”
Winnebago says it will hire about 200 people at annual wages ranging from $45-thousand to $125-thousand plus benefits. The average annual wage in Lane County is $38-thousand.
The company is expected to be operating in Junction City by late 2016.
