One of Eugene’s most popular vegan restaurants is looking for community donations to stay open. Cornbread Cafe, like many restaurants in the area, has struggled to keep revenue flowing during the pandemic.

Eugeneans have given incumbent City Councilor Emily Semple another term for Ward 1.

Eugene-based company, Emerald Broadband, was awarded $1.5 million of CARES Act funds as part of Business Oregon’s Rural Broadband Capacity Program. The grant money was awarded to finish an existing program in Western Lane County.

Oregon school districts are required to have a plan in place for the ’20/’21 school year by August 1st. Mapleton Superintendent and elementary school Principal Jodi O’Mara explains, “There’s three different models to choose from as a district when you make your plan. There’s the on-site, there’s the hybrid which is on-site and online, and then there’s the comprehensive distance learning.”

Lane County announced a second round of applications for rent assistance will become available at 9AM Wednesday morning and be open for one week.
