A delegation of Oregon lawmakers is pressing FEMA to detail its steps for improving disaster assistance after major wildfires.

Oregon U.S. Senator Jeff Merkley, this week, filed to run for re-election. In a tweeted campaign announcement, Merkley said he wants to put America back on track.

Both the U.S. House of Representatives and Senate have passed emergency spending bills to aid the ongoing humanitarian crises at the U.S.-Mexico Border. Oregon Democratic Senator Jeff Merkley voted against both.

At the State of the Union Address Tuesday, Oregon’s U.S. Senator Jeff Merkley plans to send a message on immigration policy--specifically the practice of child separation. Merkley will bring two guests, a mother and daughter, who were separated at the southern border in spring of 2018.
