The only woman on Oregon’s death row could get a new trial. A judge is expected to throw out the 2011 aggravated murder conviction of Angela McAnulty, a Eugene woman found guilty of torturing, starving, and killing her 15-year-old daughter.

The Lane County district attorney announced Tuesday a Springfield police officer was justified in the use of deadly force when he shot and killed Stacy William Kenny on March 31st, 2019.

The Oregon Court of Appeals has reversed the 2009 resisting-arrest conviction of a man who was tased by police at an anti-pesticide rally in Eugene. 

Beginning Monday Lane County will have a new District Attorney. It’s the first time the job will be held by a woman.

Oregon Governor Kate Brown appointed Patty Perlow as Lane County DA. The 52-year-old is filling the vacancy left by Alex Gardner. His new job is with the Oregon State Police as Director of the Forensic Services Division.

Perlow has been a prosecutor in the Lane County DA's Office since 1990, most recently serving as its Chief Deputy under Gardner.

A Eugene police officer is facing charges for assaulting an inmate  at the Lane County Jail.

Lane County District Attorney Alex Gardner announced last week he's resigning from his position. In August, he'll become the Director of the Forensic Services Division of the Oregon State Police. Gardner spoke with KLCC's Rachael McDonald. She asked him why he's making the change.
