More than 130 thousand people are without power across Oregon today due to high winds, fire, and downed lines.

Across southern Oregon, more and more utility customers are getting hooked up with power after heavy snowstorms last month caused massive outages.  KLCC’s Brian Bull has this update.

People in rural Lane County are among thousands in the region without power due to Monday’s storm. Lane Electric Cooperative, which serves Cottage Grove, Oakridge and other areas is working through historic outages.

A utility company says a dead tree that fell on power lines appears to have caused a brush fire near Oakridge that destroyed a trailer and shut down lanes of Highway 58 for several hours before it was contained.
