This week, restaurants at the Erb Memorial Union on the University of Oregon campus are donating a portion of their proceeds to Ducks Feeding Ducks. This effort is meant to address food insecurity as KLCC’s Aubrey Bulkeley reports.

The University of Oregon Board of Trustees voted unanimously Thursday to remove the name of a leader of the Ku Klux Klan from a campus building. Dunn Hall will be called Cedar Hall for now.

Students at the University of Oregon will pay more in tuition next year. The Board of Trustees voted Friday to raise tuition by more than four percent. The increase passed despite fierce objection from students.

The University of Oregon is pulling out of its high-profile, $3.4 million branding and advertising contract, instead directing the money towards academic and research goals.

University of Oregon President Michael Schill Tuesday announced his goal to increase the school's graduation rate by 10 percent in 5 years and to expand access for lower-income Oregon students.  Schill is committing $17 million to the effort.

The search is over. The board of trustees voted today to name the 18th President of the University of Oregon.

Michael H. Schill has been chosen as the next U of O President. Schill is currently Dean at the University of Chicago-Law School.

Schill is a first generation college graduate--he attended Princeton.  Calling public universities “gems,” Schill says he’s proud and excited to be a Duck.

“This is an opportunity to take a great school, a proud school, an exciting school and move it forward. This is an absolutely pivotal moment for this university.”
