On Thursday, the NCAA announced plans to cancel the Division I men’s and women’s 2020 basketball tournaments, known as March Madness. This, a day after the organization released a statement indicating the games would go on, but without fans in attendance.
In a statement, the NCAA indicated the decision was “based on the evolving COVID-19 public health threat.” They added the move is meant to “ensure the events do not contribute to spread of the pandemic.”
